Weekend Wrap Up

Is it seriously Monday? I have a feeling in about a week these Monday posts are going to be alarmingly passive aggressive considering I'll be back to waking up to an alarm every morning! Ah! Reality is starting to set it that I will not be on summer vacation any longer. OUCH. But anyhoo--on to the weekend wrap up:

Technically my weekend started on Thursday this week because my dear husband unexpectedly had to visit Miami to take a test (the test was supposed to be in Tampa, but checking the location didn't come until much later) so we booked a hotel room and jetted off to Miami Thursday night for his Friday morning test. We drove 4 hours, checked in, ordered delivery and got into bed in time to turn on Jersey Shore.

FRIDAY: We got up early for breakfast in the lobby of the hotel, PT went to take his test, I wished him good luck and went to the gym. 2 hours and 2 episodes of Teen Mom later PT was back and we hit the road again. We got to my parents house and ran to the mall to provide moral support for my brother's job interview (and shop, well mostly to shop) and got fro yo. Then headed back to the parentals to get ready to go out for Jennifer's birthday dinner celebration. The celebration was fun until I got lost on a dark random road with a dead phone and a gas light on. So happy that I am alive and blogging today. I spent a good amount of time thanking the Lord for this one.

SATURDAY: Woke up early and the boys went golfing while I headed to Jenn's to lay out and BBQ. It rained so we played pool and ate inside and just about the time the sun came out again I was headed back home to get ready for dinner with the fam:) We spent the rest of the evening lounging and complaining about how full we were from the chicken gyros and how good the food was at dinner.

SUNDAY: We woke up and went to church and lunch and headed back home for some Sunday laziness and game night. Mom made lasagna and a pepperoni loaf and this was when I came to realization that not only my weekends, but my entire life revolves around food. We played some games and headed back to the Bettelli's for a Brothers and Sisters marathon.

Weekend Rating: Borderline Gluttonous.

Weekend Wrap Up

Sheesh, where did the weekend go? And why is it that doing nothing causes me to want to nap incessantly?

FRIDAY: I woke up sleepy but perked up REAL fast at the realization that I would be headed to the beach with my bestest as soon as I was packed and caffeinated. I threw some snacks and waters in a beach bag and hit the road. We spent ALLL DAY at the beach, enjoying the sun and waves and even listened to a quirky rendition of "Brown Eyed Girl" while eating lunch on the sand. It was a phenomenal day and I have a sunburn to prove it. (ouch) I left the beach sun kissed and sleepy. I got home in time to shower and get ready for sushi and fro yo with PT and ended the night with a movie.

SATURDAY: I made french toast and PT and I headed for Starbucks. After our coffees we headed to his parents house to lay by the pool (I layered 50 spf all over my body). After an entire day at the beach, I wasn't braving the sun any longer so I spent most of the day popping in and out of the house and reading a book. After we showered we went out to a steak house with PT's parents. My favorite part was the bread they gave us. I'm a carbaholic. After dinner we hung out at his parent's house a little longer and then headed back to the Bettelli residence just in time to watch a TLC special on Nick Lachey's wedding (Yes, I purposely sat down to watch this and yes, I found it insanely interesting).

SUNDAY: We woke up and went to church. Afterward we went out to lunch and got back just in time to nap during the thunderstorm. The rest of the evening includes playing Chutes and Ladders with my nephew and watching the Bachelorette: Men Tell All (you guys will soon realize I am not at all kidding about this reality TV addiction).

Weekend Wrap Up

FRIDAY: I headed off to my parent's house on Friday afternoon and was welcomed by a nasty rainstorm. After contemplating a nap my mom convinced me to run some errands with her. One of them including a trip to Old Time Pottery, this crazy cheap home store that is stocked with necessities (my version of necessities anyway). After our long trip there I decided I would wrestle with the kitchen in order to prepare a meal for my family. We went to Publix and got the groceries and home we went.
I actually made it through the entire meal making process without setting fire to anything (Success!) My family "ooed" and "ahhed" over the meatloaf and mashed potatoes that I made, I never reject encouragement, even if it's forced. We spent the rest of the night making fun of one another while playing Trivial Pursuit...Junior and Scrabble. PT won both games, I suspect cheating.

SATURDAY: PT & I slept in & woke up with french toast and errands to run. We raced all over town, peeked into a couple stores and pretended we needed to buy things and even stopped in at Planet Smoothie (ahh, nostalgia) and got ourselves a jumbo blend of fruits. We returned home to my parents just in time for PT and my brother to spend a day playing video games while I chatted with my mom. We went to Acropolis for dinner, a Greek cuisine and explosion of goodness for your taste buds. We left with full stomachs and napkin traces in our hair. That night we got dressed up and went to a friend's engagement party. I love engagements and I love parties. We laughed a lot and then went home where I coerced PT into watching PS. I love you.

SUNDAY: Sunday I woke up to PT tickling me until I was screaming something about hurting him very badly in the near future. I say a lot of things I don't mean when cornered into a laughing fit that is anything but funny. We went to church and got subs for lunch. PT and my brother played some more video games and I caught up on some reality television before heading back to our summer residence at the Bettelli's.

Weekend Wrap Up

FRIDAY-We left at 8 o'clock, er, we were SUPPOSED to leave at 8 o'clock to head to St. Augustine but I was running late...as usual. When we finally hit the road we made it to St. Augustine without so much as a hitch. "The Boys" had a tee time for 2PM and when we arrived at noon there were black clouds (Oh, lovely). We had lunch and the boys left.

Meanwhile- I had orchestrated this awesome surprise for my man, where I planned out this whole ordeal involving a brand spanking new golf club that PT had been talking about for months, a huge red bow and a nice little anniversary present secretly placed in his golf bag (with the help of my little brother).

As you can imagine I wanted video, photos and mad texts about PT's awesome surprise that I was sure he would LOVE. I was gloating just thinking about my best wife ever award! Weeeelll, after many texts back and forth with PT and my brother--no super surprise, no golf, they'd been rained out and were coming back home without PT ever opening his bag. BUMMER! I had to bite my tongue in order to keep myself from shouting, "GO OPEN YOUR GOLF BAG AND HAND ME MY AWARD",when the guys returned.

The rest of the night we enjoyed warm weather, good food, and nice company.

SATURDAY- The boys left for their scheduled tee time and I again awaited anxiously for the word that PT had received his surprise. Weeeellll, after no word I checked my phone and it was DEAD! (ugh, technology) so I had no way of knowing what had happened. I had told my brother earlier to try and get video of the grand opening so I was just counting on that. A couple hours later after my phone charged I had some sweet texts from my happy husband who was quite surprised... mission accomplished:)

When the boys got back my brother showed me the video. It started with my brother saying.."Ok, go..." and Peter doing a not so great job of pretending to open his bag for the first time and see his club. My brother missed getting video of the actual opening so I all I had was the re-enactment to laugh about (boys..). All in all, it was a wonderful surprise, even if I didn't see it. PT was so happy, mission accomplished. && Thanks to my little bro, for helping me pull the whole thing off.

The rest of the evening was spent laughing. a LOT.

SUNDAY- OH the dreaded vacation end. We ate a marvelous brunch, laid by the pool, packed up & shipped out. PT & I drove back to his sister's house, had dinner and laughed some more.

Weekend Rating: Pretty Awesome.
